A-T Solutions provides a customized, counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) train-the-trainer course in the areas of basic through advanced IED awareness, which includes information that supports individual and military unit protection. Developed by experienced instructional designers and IED and EOD defeat experts and delivered by instructors with extensive operational experience, training includes IED employment and search tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP); establishing security and perimeters; trigger man identification; IED trigger points and locations; and an introduction to Joint Counter Radio Controlled IED (RCIED)Electronic Warfare (JCREW) systems and capabilities information. Units are provided with 60 IED devices, an IED display board with 20 IEDs, posters, smartbooks, and flash cards.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the variables associated with contemporary operational environment (COE), and their effects on defeating the insurgency
- Describe common and emerging insurgent TTP
- Define and describe the tactical application of IEDs and their components within an IED system
- Identify the effects of an IED
- Explain the principles for defeating an IED system and the TTP to reduce the hazards associated with an IED
- Describe the purpose for Counter Radio Controlled IED Electronic Warfare (CREW)
- Describe how IED enablers will contribute to the C-IED fight
- Describe the purpose for Situational Training Exercise (STX) lanes
