A-T Solutions has the highest concentration of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and improvised explosive device (IED) defeat experts outside of the U.S. government. These subject matter experts work with instructional designers and curriculum developers to produce courses tailored specifically to the educational needs of bomb technicians and EODs, providing training solutions to current and anticipated tactical, operational, and strategic threats. Our full life cycle learning management system tracks participant achievement of learning objectives, and we continuously gather participant feedback to evaluate and update course content.
Bomb Technicians/EOD Course Prerequisites
Course participants must be federal, military, or state and local professionals currently serving in law enforcement, special operations/special warfare, or private security roles. Additional prerequisite is that participants must be graduates of the Hazardous Devices School (HDS) in Huntsville, AL, or the Navy's Explosive Ordnance Disposal School (NAVSCOLEOD) in Eglin, FL and be currently serving as active duty/on-call bomb squad member/technicians.
Bomb Technicians/EOD Courses
A-T Solutions bomb technicians/EOD courses emphasize the practical application of theory through hands-on exercises and scenario-based practice events, and include the following subjects:
IED/WMD Electronics Training
- Overview and introduction to threat assessment
- Electronics training germane to bomb squad members
- Advanced X-ray techniques relevant to IED response and mitigation
- Use of counter-vehicle-borne IED (VBIED) tools and techniques
IED Threat Assessment Training
- Improves the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of a bomb squad responding to an IED incident
IED Electronics, Design, Construction and Exploitation Training
- Improves the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of a bomb squad responding to an IED incident
- Enhances in-house training by enabling the bomb squad to comprehend device designs from different sources and exploit those designs to produce more realistic training aids
Bomb Squad/SWAT Interoperability Training
- Enables participants to formulate a rapid threat assessment and conduct a hand entry or rapid disruptor deployment while maintaining the momentum of a SWAT assault
- Enables participants to support SWAT team response operations when IED threat exists and use of a disruptor is often precluded
- Enables participants to support response operations involving major public events when an IED is discovered and no opportunity to evacuate exists
- Enables participants to support response for major bombing incidents where a second device has been discovered, but rescue operations cannot be stopped to allow for a conventional IED response
Military IED Courses
A-T Solutions has developed courses for military customers specific to their diverse operating environments to cover the spectrum of operational units from conventional to Special Operations units. Among these are courses tailored to the Air Force and to EOD units working with Special Mission Units. EOD units working with Special Mission Units face unique limitations such as need for speed, limited equipment, nighttime operations, and covert operations, which require specialized training. These courses, taught by instructors with Tier One Special Operations Forces (SOF) EOD experience, enable us to provide continuation training to the nation's Special Operations and Tier One Units.
