Evaluate Before and After

Today’s rapidly changing and emerging threats present a wide range of challenges for organizations around the world. Terrorism is a major concern for key decision-makers in our government and military forces, as well as owner and operators of critical infrastructure and key resources in the US and other allied nations. Our Assessments and Exercises team plays a critical role in determining the best solutions for meeting these challenges and measuring how successful they will be after implementation.

A-T Solutions takes a practical, operational-based approach to ensure that the assessments and exercises conducted are based on real-world situations and probable outcomes. Threat and Vulnerability Assessments allow us to analyze your organization’s significant or key assets, identify vulnerabilities, and determine current security capabilities and protective measures. After implementing recommended mitigation strategies determined during the assessment, the exercises we perform help validate whether or not your organization is adequately protecting critical infrastructure or significant assets and delivering on its mission.

Assess the Current Situation

We begin the process by developing a baseline to determine significant assets and possible risks that currently exist. To accomplish this, we conduct comprehensive interviews with key stakeholders, management personnel and deck plate operators. In many cases, we meet with the organizational leadership for direct input. A-T Solutions is adept at assessing your threats, identifying key strengths and weaknesses in the security of your organization or forces, and developing sound mitigation strategies to address your current real-world situation.

Our interview process is extremely thorough--typically includes over 150 questions and lasts about two hours. Our goal is to identify your significant assets and provide a snap shot of your organization’s vulnerabilities and protection capabilities in real-time. The resulting baseline report provides accurate real-world needs, and is based on projected funding and resources. We use this information to recommend customized solutions that lower your risk in the most cost-effective manner possible. Often clients use this information to help them secure grant funding for recommended equipment or training.

Conduct Exercises to Validate Success

Frequently the exercise and validation phase includes “Red Teaming.” This involves creating a simulated terrorist cell team to exploit your organization’s vulnerabilities and test response capabilities in a real-world environment. The team is comprised of results-oriented individuals who understand terrorist tactics and  techniques. With decades of practical experience in explosive ordnance disposal, special operations, law enforcement and irregular warfare, these experts conduct operations-based exercises that identify strengths and reveal critical weaknesses without putting lives in danger.

DHS Approved Courses - Training and Exercise Integration / Training Operations (TEI/TO), formerly the Office of Grants & Training (G&T) Training Division under the Department of Homeland Security's Preparedness Directorate provides tailored training to enhance the capacity of state and local jurisdictions to prepare for, prevent, deter, respond to, and recover safely and effectively from potential manmade and natural catastrophic events, including terrorism. TEI/TO training conforms to nationally recognized standards and adheres to the principles of both adult learning theory, including problem-based learning, and Instructional System Design (ISD). In addition, training developed under the auspices of TEI/TO undergoes a rigorous validation process before delivery and is continuously assessed while training is delivered to the public. TEI/TO training is increasingly being tested and evaluated through state and local exercises to enhance further development of training courses.
